The Zeeheldentuin
A city garden made by and for the neighbourhood, a few minutes' walk from the garage.
An award-winning community garden
The Zeeheldentuin is on Tasmanstraat, on the other half of the old school site. Residents created most of the garden themselves in 2015. In its first year it won three local prizes and the European Green Infrastructure Award.
There are around 90 small allotments, an orchard, a natural playground and a picnic area. These were renovated in 2026 and are now easily accessible for children and carers with disabilities too.
- Allotments for local residents
- Orchard and flowering borders
- Natural playground and picnic area
- Open to everyone in the neighbourhood
