De Zeeheld parking garage
A covered, secure garage in the heart of the Zeeheldenkwartier. Open day and night, for season ticket holders only.
Tucked away behind Prins Hendrikstraat
De Zeeheld is tucked away behind the houses on Prins Hendrikstraat, right behind the De Tasmanhof residential building. Its location makes it less suitable for quick visits, but ideal if you need a place for your car every day. That is why De Zeeheld is a residents' garage ("stallingsgarage"): you can only use it with a season ticket.
The Municipality of The Hague bought the garage in 2019 and had it fully renovated. The reason: HTM's new, wider low-floor trams. Narrow Zoutmanstraat no longer had room for both the trams and parked cars, so around a hundred parking spaces disappeared from Zoutmanstraat and Laan van Meerdervoort. De Zeeheld was bought to make up for that loss. Since 1 February 2021 the garage has been open again with 135+ spaces. Q-Park runs it day to day.

New to the area? Living in the Zeeheldenkwartier explains the difference between a street parking permit and a garage season ticket.
Can I park in De Zeeheld for a short visit?
No. De Zeeheld is a residents' garage: you can only enter with a season ticket. For a short visit to the area, park on the street using a parking app or choose a public garage nearby.
Who can apply for a season ticket?
Residents and businesses in the Zeeheldenkwartier. Residents and businesses on Zoutmanstraat have priority, because parking spaces there were removed for the new trams. Hotels in the area can rent a limited number of spaces. Any remaining spaces are open to other applicants.
How much does a season ticket cost?
There is a rate for local residents and a (higher) rate for businesses, hotels and others. Q-Park sets the prices every year; you will always find the current rates on Q-Park's page for De Zeeheld.
How do I apply?
Online, via Q-Park's page for De Zeeheld. Q-Park manages the garage. Choose your ticket, enter your licence plate and pay with iDEAL, credit card or PayPal.
Is the garage open day and night?
Yes. With a season ticket you can drive in and out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.
What is the maximum vehicle height?
1.80 metres. Vans and tall SUVs with a roof box usually won't fit.
